The refrigeration unit is the heart of a refrigeration device, but - as not everyone knows - it does not always have to be located inside the device. In some situations it can be located outside the device, usually outside the building where refrigerated cabinets, counters or multideck refrigerated display are set up. Each device in the RAPA offer can be manufactured with or without an internal aggregate, prepared for connection to an external aggregate. The selection of devices in this respect is a very important issue, among others in the context of steadily rising electricity prices and increasing costs of maintenance services.
Find out the advantages and disadvantages of both solutions and check which version is more suitable for your business!
Plug-in devices
Refrigerating devices equipped with an internal aggregate are equipment designed more for smaller retail spaces, although they are also present in large-format shops. Their greatest advantage is that they are ready for use as soon as they are connected to a power source. Other benefits of plug-in devices include:
Plug-in refrigeration devices are extremely easy to use, but they will not work well in all conditions. In large facilities with many refrigeration devices, the heat and noise emitted by plug-in devices would be very disruptive. In such a situation, it is better to opt for refrigerated furniture without a built-in unit. Many retailers and even large chain stores successfully use a mixed power system, e.g. refrigerated lines: serving counters, refrigerated cabinets on external units and refrigerated islands, drinks cabinets and fruit and vegetable refrigerated shelving are powered by an internal (plug-in) aggregate..
Remote refrigerating devices
Refrigeration devices without a built-in aggregate are designed to be connected to an external unit. This is usually the solution for large shops with multiple refrigeration devices. The biggest benefit of choosing this option is the reduction of heat and noise emissions in the sales area. Other advantages include :
Non-plug-in devices require a proper infrastructure and are much more suitable for large-scale projects, such as large shops or hypermarkets, where a central refrigeration system is already planned at the building design stage. However, there are times when both plug-in and remote devices operate in a seemingly atypical environment. This can be dictated by a variety of factors, so the choice of the right devices should be determined primarily by the conditions of the specific building in which they will be placed.
