Well, it turns out that a few things matter here. The length of the power supply cables to the refrigerating appliance is something worth focusing on before the purchase. We have prepared a set of questions and answers for you, thanks to which the secret knowledge about cable length won’t be longer so secret. Enjoy reading!

Which RAPA devices have power cables?

All our refrigerating appliances have cables with plug. Just plug them into the power socket. We include here: refrigerated counters, flower refrigerators, upright refrigerated cabinets, confectionery display cases, neutral cash counters and so on.

What are the standard cable lengths?

We have several standard lengths to choose from: 2.5 meters, 3.5 meters, 4 meters, 6 meters and 8 meters. Importantly, this is the length of the power cable measured from the compressor, so 0.5 meter is located inside the device. Therefore, remember that the visible cable lengths are: 2 meters, 3 meters, 3.5 meters, 5.5 meters and 7.5 meters 

Which lengths are base units in RAPA equipment?

In cabinets with the bottom mounted unit and counters, we place the power cable with a length of 2.5 meters (i.e. 2 meters protrude). In devices with the top mounted unit it is 3.5 meters (3 meters protrude). However, flower refrigerators we equip with a 4-meter long cable (2 meters protruding on the bottom of device). Of course, we can change the length to another on customer request. 6 and 8 meters are not standard, but we can easily fit a cable of this length if the customer requires it.

How do I order a power cord of my preferred length?

Please add appropriate note in the comments to your order. We need this information at the time of purchase. Than we will fit a different length than the standard one for free, which will take between 3 and 4 weeks. If you would like to exchange the cable in a device you have already purchased and received, this will unfortunately incur additional costs.

Can I use an extension cord if the cable is too short?

Absolutely not. In every user manual, we emphasize not to connect the devices to extension cords or distributors, because in most cases they are not grounded. The plug should go directly into the power socket.

What length of the power cord is the best?

It all depends on which part of the room you want to place the device and how far it is from the power socket. It is important that the cable is not taut and does not drag on the floor. As we mentioned before, possible extension cords are out of the question.

Can I install a different cable length myself?

Self-installation is not possible, because we attach the cable to the compressor's electrical node and then seal everything. What else is worth knowing?

As a curiosity, we would like to inform you that we also send our products abroad. Therefore, we have plugs suitable, for example, for English or American power sockets. In addition, we make appliances for 115V, so they can be plugged in in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Colombia and South Korea.
