FISH Refrigerated Counters – Made for fresh fish and seafood

Jan 13, 2023

Fish and seafood are an irreplaceable source of many valuable nutrients. They form the basis of many delicious dishes and have for years occupied an important place in the diet of people from all over the world. By far the best culinary material is in their raw form. Due to their high water content, their shelf life is low and therefore preserving their freshness requires special storage. In response to this need, we have developed the FISH refrigerated counters, which not only keep fish delicacies fresh, but also display them beautifully at the point of sale!

Ergonomic inside

The FISH counters are another product in the SiX line. They are designed for the short-term storage and display of fresh fish and seafood at the point of sale. We have designed them in up to four models:

  • L-S FISH with curved front glass pane
  • L-Si FISH with short curved front glass pane
  • L-X FISH with straight front glass pane
  • L-Xi FISH with short straight front glass pane

The interior of the counters made of high-quality acid-resistant steel is extremely practical - resistant to acids from food and easy to clean. The generous display space, 75 cm deep and 12 cm high, is equipped with special containers, allowing the product range to be arranged with or without ice. The overall design is elegant and modern, characteristic of all units in the SiX range, which fits in perfectly with present-day retail settings.

Functional display on ice

The possibility of using ice at the FISH counter was one of the main objectives we set ourselves during the design process. Its use not only enhances the visual qualities of the display, but also allows us to take extra care of the freshness of the products. Before placing the goods, the containers should be filled with an approximately 5 cm layer of scaly ice, which while remaining loose and brittle, is ideal for cooling. On such a prepared base, the temperature of the products will oscillate between 0 and 3oC. It is important to remember that the assortment placed on the ice layer should be previously cooled. The gradually melting ice should be refilled as required.

Practical display containers.

Special containers used in the fish counter have convenient handles for easy removal. They can be removed efficiently for thorough cleaning or washing in the sink, following the instructions for use. Practical holes prepared in the containers ensure that water from melting ice easily drains away from the display.

Useful solutions

FISH counters are characterised by their low electricity consumption.

As with the other refrigerated counters in the SiX line, we have incorporated dynamic cooling to guarantee a more even temperature distribution over the entire display area.

Water from the evaporator and from the display can be discharged directly into the drainage system or into a condensate container, which must be emptied as required. The evaporator has been treated with a protective coating for additional protection against corrosion.

The counters also have a practical, non-refrigerated open storage compartment on the service side, which can be used as additional storage space.

Many devices, many possibilities!

FISH counters can be combined in refrigeration lines with other refrigerated counters from the SiX range, using a glass partition, and can also be combined with neutral elements and heating units from the range to create a practical and aesthetically pleasing trade stand arrangement.

A variety of finishing options make it possible to adapt the units to any interior design project, while the numerous accessories and add-ons available as optional extras help to tailor the unit sets to specific needs.

The ability to adapt the light colour to the product range on the L-S FISH and L-X FISH models allows the merchandise to be presented even more attractively.
