Transport and logistics are key elements of the economy in today's world. The proper functioning of most areas of our daily lives depends on the fast flow of raw materials and goods. We have felt this particularly at the height of the covid-19 pandemic and since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. It is for this reason that there is a worldwide drive to maximise and optimise supply. We are joining this trend by offering a device that will help to combine the delivery of small quantities of products requiring refrigeration with standard goods. Meet the Cargo refrigerated cabinet!
Refrigeration on the move
Let's imagine that we have to transport, 733.9 km (the distance from Lublin to Szczecin), 2 cartons of a drug that can be stored at a constant temperature of no more than 4 ° C, and several dozen cartons of other drugs that should be stored at room temperature. How to combine long-distance transport of products that require such different conditions? The ideal solution will be to install a RAPA Cargo refrigerated cabinet in your delivery vehicle! It will allow you to easily place goods that must be stored at different temperatures in one load. The Cargo cabinet is a device dedicated to use in vehicles, but it has been designed in such a way that it can be powered from various sources. Direct current 12 V or 24 V (i.e. the current that can be found in cigarette lighter sockets in passenger cars or delivery vans) or 230 V alternating current (standard power from the socket), which allows you to use it as a classic storage cabinet. Equipped with a steel base in the shape of a standard pallet, it can be conveniently moved with a forklift. Cargo was created with the transport of drugs in mind, to replace passive containers (insulated containers with a cold insert) and enable convenient transport of goods without the need to monitor the condition of the containers. However, you can also transport food and all products that require constant, low temperature.
Temperature under strict controlą
The most important issue in transporting products that require a constant low temperature is to keep it at the right level at all times. To ensure that the temperature does not exceed the set value, we have placed the temperature sensor at the warmest point in the chamber. When the thermostat is set at 4°C, the internal temperatures are within the range -1°C - +4°C, and when the thermostat is set at 7°C, they are within the range +4°C - +7°C. Next to the sensor, we have placed a validation hole with a diameter of Ø 11 mm (entry from above), allowing the insertion of an additional sensor to record the temperature inside the chamber. There is an air guide on the rear internal wall, for the best possible temperature distribution throughout the chamber.
No worries about condensation
The device is mainly used for the transport of goods and therefore is rarely opened, so very little frost builds up on the evaporator. The Cargo cabinet is equipped with an automatic condensate evaporation system, which operates on the basis of hot gases of the refrigerant. This solution reduces power consumption due to the lack of an electric heater. The system is virtually maintenance-free. The condensate drainage pipe is located at the bottom of the container, in which the water collects and then is evaporated from it, without the need for additional intervention. For greater safety, we have equipped the cabinet with an additional container to which excess water flows in an emergency. This container is equipped with a transparent control pipe which also functions as a drain pipe. No tools are required to access the condenser. It is enough to undo the buckle located next to the grille and slide the grille to the left. As a result, maintenance and cleaning are performed quickly and without problems.
A design you can trust
The Cargo refrigeration cabinet is a strong and durable construction, providing excellent cooling paramiters. The chamber is insulated with a layer of polyurethane foam. The bottom of the chamber, back wall, and ceiling are made of stainless steel, and the side walls and door are made of aluminium. The cabinet is equipped with a 3-part platform made of 2.0 mm stainless sheet metal, under which air flows so that the goods are evenly cooled. The interior of the cabinet is devoid of shelves, allowing for free use of the space. We have fitted door and back stops to prevent products accidentally blocking the air channel.
Battery discharge protection
have taken care to ensure the safety and comfort of the Cargo, so in the event of an excessive drop in voltage on the battery, the device will switch off to allow the transport vehicle to start up safely. When the cabinet is disconnected from the power supply, we have between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on the model, to connect to the next voltage source to maintain temperatures within nominal ranges.
